other option, email GALAX and see if there's a known problem with this. probably just a fan failure.

Do 980ti hof's use thermal pads? the last gpu I opened up was an evga gtx 580 and I really destroyed the thermal pads when I pulled it apart, I'm also kind of concerned if I'll ruin my warranty.

The mems use thermal pads, just be careful when removing the plate that you'll see after you remove the fan shroud. It should be fairly easy since the plate I mention has screws you remove and it should be relatively easy to pry it off, just do it slowly.

Yes mems have pads, they will stick back on with ease. I removed the heatsink a few month back to swap out thermal paste as the batch I had on mine was poorly spreadeand gave me pretty horrific temps.

Sorry for not reading the entire thread but the general consensus is people are happy with these cards? I'm planning a new build that will be all white. Was planning on picking up one of these http://galaxstore.net/Galax-Nvidia-Geforce-GTX-1070-HOF-8GB_p_89.html. Whats the warranty like on these cards and how hard are RMA's? Trying to decide if it is worth the price premium.

Also are these cards even out? I haven't seen a single review and this is the only place I could find a link for it.

Thanks,
My System

Only site I know of in England that sells HoF cards. https://www.overclockers.co.uk/kfa2-geforce-gtx-1070-hof-8192mb-gddr5-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-092-kf.html

warranty is two years, similar to most other brands. Aesthetics on all HoF cards are pleasing, especially for white/black builds. Not had a single problem with my 980ti HoF. RMA will be a pain if you've bought it in America. In UK/EU RMA will be back to supplier, if they think it's damaged either replace, or in some cases they will send it to KFA2/GALAX to assess it. Overclockers never has any bad service from my 8 years of using them. Never had a bad RMA either. depends who you get it from.

Don't worry about RMA's then. RMA's are quick and easy with Galax.

I tried checking online for reviews and it seems most of the reviews are in Europe or in the Middle East. There was one review I was able to check out below.

HERE

It uses an MLC type nand which is very good (actually aside from enterprise type nand it's the best even againts TLC out now - according to our SSD guru on OCN) and has read and write/speeds of 520/500 according to its specs. In the review it was able to hit more than that in CrystalDiskMark and able to hit the specs in ASSSD bench.

It doesn't seem to be out in NA or Asia yet though... I also saw THIS... Now that I really want to get!!!

CHIPHELL has a review on the PCI-E SSD! it uses NVME so it is faster than your usual M.2 SSD!
