If you can take a screen cap with your username on it that would be cool!

Anyone flashed the skyn3t bios yet? I'll probably do it during my rest days as we've been pretty busy with work.

OCing tools that currently work with HOF 780 Ti (bios 80.80.34.00.25).

I tested multiple versions of all 3 and ranked them from highest to lowest in my book (I ranked them based on the newest iteration that worked for the card) using the stock BIOS.

1. MSI Afterburner - Beta 3.0.0 version 19 (Version 2.3.1 doesn't work)

2. EVGA PrecisionX 4.2.1

3. Extreme Tuner Plus 3.0.0.3

1 and 2 are a near dead-heat since both use Rivatuner, it really is a matter of preference in my opinion. Both can show a ton of information via OSD and can capture video and screenshots if you wish to. Personally, MSI Afterburner is a little bit more intuitive than EVGA PrecisionX in my book so it takes the top spot.

Now, when you start using the skyn3t BIOS the choices change:

1. EVGA PrecisionX 4.2.1

2. MSI Afterburner - Beta 3.0.0 version 19 (Version 2.3.1 doesn't work) - You can't seem to raise the voltage higher than 1.10 mV

3. Extreme Tuner Plus 3.0.0.3 - This would have leap frogged MSI AB, because you can manipulate the base voltage. The drawback with this is the fact that non of the fan profiles stick.

Glad AB is working for you now.

I just sent my bios to Skyn3t for modding, since there isn't a version of the rev4 bios for the A1 stepping 780 HOF. I'm still waiting to put blocks back on my cards before pushing them though. One of my 780s died so I've got to wait for it to get back from RMA before finishing my new build frown.gif

That's right the B1 stepping is the available one in the 780 Ti club! skyn3t should be able to respond in a day or two!

Sorry to hear about your other card dying! At least you get a new card out of what happened! thumb.gif

One of the HOF's died? Also, thanks for sending the bios in, I have A1 as well and looking forward to getting it modded.

Yeah, I used it for mining for a couple days and it died on me. I kept the fans running at 100% the whole time, but I guess it still couldn't handle the load. Needless to say my little alt coin mining experiment is over lol.

I just hope the new card is a decent overclocker. I've gone through 4 HOFs and cherry picked the best cores, so I'll be pretty bummed if it doesn't oc much.

That's pretty wild, as I have had my pegged at 100% for almost a month now. It was running 63C up until last week when I switched to HVC and not it's hovering around 49C. I set my core to 1230MHz and then the power target to 51% on HVC and 65% for any other scrypt coin. I heavily monitor all of my card's watt/khash ratio so setting the voltage around .95-1.0V is the optimal range I have found.

Out of my reference evga 780, 2 Asus direct Cu, the Galaxy definitely has one of the best watt/ratio due to the highest clock speeds at the lowest voltage.

Did you ever update the bios to the latest one Galaxy pushed out?

Yeah, I cannot stress enough that the updated bios by Galaxy is a must install. Before the bios update, I constant clock and voltage stuttering. After the bios, my card has been performing great. Mine is not the B1 stepping, so I hope it doesn't die on me haha.
