Before I get home, I've never overclocked in BIOS befkre, can anybody help me? I'm extremely nervous with all of this stuff because I really do not want to screw things up.

This is what this window looks like before I've changed anything. http://puu.sh/7HBvn.png

The info you need is right here:

HWiNFO64 or 32 is nicer than HWMonitor.

To be clear, my intention is only to get things working, then I may overclock. Right now it looks like heat might be the problem? So excuse my ineptitude with this stuff but how should I go about cooling it more? Point a fan at it?
If you can point a fan towards it, try it. And definitely not overclock it. That would probably make it worse.

Yes at this point we need a baseline at stock to see if and what kind of headroom you may have for overclocking.

Yeah, I really just want to get it to stop dropping the clock, overclocking is pretty much out of the question at this point. Thank you all so much for your help so far.

With the M5A97 LE R2.0, I would definitely put some heatsinks on the vrms. If you cant find one, then use memory heatsinks made for vga cards. They have the double sided sticky thermal tape for mounting.

do you have APM in your bios options, disable it.
I had fluctuating when under load with my 8320 and it was the cause, not any of the other power saving features.
APM tries to save power when under load.

also if you have a "turbo boost" you may want to disable that too when you start OCing, it gives a boost of like 0.5 for 2-4 cores on occasion, but it jumps volts up to 1.4, its unlikely you need that much voltage for the increase so its just extra heat/power used.

and HPC, that makes your cpu run at 100% clocks, all the time even when idling, web browsing, anything, which honestly makes me not a fan because of the extra power used thats not needed, and the extra heat, but I know some have had success with it.
