[DS] Microsoft: PC Gamers Can Expect More Focus From Us - Page 8

It kinda sounds like their sole motivation is stemmed from Steams success? What about the voice of the PC community that's been ignored for years by them? If I'm going to choose, I'll stick with Steam.

Firstly, Im have lots of doubts about their "Efforts" and "Focus" will be in PC gaming. Their track record is just too ridiculous for me to believe them anymore lol. I guess ill believe it when I see it.

Also, I kinda hope in a way this doesn't work out for them, since if this is successful it could seriously damage Linux's chances in getting gaming support, and games are the only reason why besides a few other applications that Windows has a partition on SSD. Otherwise, Arch Linux all the way lol.

Sorry if I seem kinda bitter for wanting a company to fail in some of their "supposed" endeavors, but I would like for the DX monopoly to go away lol. Multi-Platform please.

They're efforts and focus on PC gaming will be like their efforts and focus and modern operating systems: App-based, Windows-store, Tablet-centric games made with DirectX to lock-in to Windows 8 or 9.

Give me AoM II please.

All that the fragmentation of clients means is: I don't buy EA or Ubisoft games anymore. It doesn't mean that I'm okay with more clients.

If they roll out DRM that isn't steam compatible, I'll at MS games to that list.

....Please devs, please make your content available on Linux.

I'd rather have just Steam as well, or no DRM at all (GOG).

But if M$ decides to throw a new PC exclusive, it'll come with GFWL 2.0.

There's no way they'll let Steam get a chunk of their profits. "If EA did it, so can we", that's how M$ is going to think.

Pretty much, except expect them to somehow make it even worse than EA could. IDK perhaps require an XBOX live subscription or something equally as ridiculous.

They tried that when they first rolled out GFWL and the backlash was so severe they did away with it, so don't see that coming back. Not saying that won't try something else, but pretty sure that one is dead and buried.

I will believe this when I see Halo and Forza hit the PC market. I'm not buying a new gen console which means I won't be giving money to a Halo purchase...that is...unless it comes to PC.

Yeah pretty much it is due to Steam's success. EA got jealous of Steam(simplistician's law) and decided to bad mouth Steam because they weren't happy with simply selling bulk deals to Valve and feeling left out on the profits. Nevermond they're making quite a lot of money in the process. Ubisoft went through MS but still sells to Valve and they enjoy a profit no matter whom it's through. Now because of games like the AC franchise(UbiCanada) M$ sees that they can carve a piece of Steam off for themselves. This is a no brainer.

Because of this I flat refuse to do business with disingenuous companies like EA, If M$ thinks they're gonna turn a profit on this they're sadly mistaken because there are only a handful of UbiWare that Gamers religiously enjoy. Those being AC, FarCry and a couple of others I am probably forgetting.

M$ should stick to putting out the next Windows and develop it so that you can stick with the Desktop and leave the Phone OS on the developers table. Just because it works on our Smart phones doesn't men that it's what we need on our PC. The size of the screen and lack of touch logic on MOST systems relegates that Win8 pukeware wastebin imho. Can't hardly do a bleedin thing in Win8 and I refuse to spend my hard earned money on Win8. So unless they plan to offer 360/One titles through it and allow Valve to purchase licenses and give us Gamers more choices, it's not worth it for us AND them.
