First off, I assume you've checked that the TV isn't looking for a different Input now and that you've tried the HDMI in any and all ports the TV has.

Does the TV have a VGA port? if it does, try hooking up a computer via VGA. Let it see it and be happy and then switch back to HDMI.
Unplug the TV and press the power button a few times and plug it back and try it.
Go into the channel setup and tell it to look for "Cable" (I've seen this actually make a difference once...though I don't know if UK TVs have this setting).
Yeah it has a VGA port and luckily I have an older laptop laying around with a VGA port, so I'll try that. I don't think it has the "Cable" thing though. Thank you for your help so far by the way, much appreciated.

Well that setting's other option would be "air" or "antenna" if that helps

Nah don't have those settings, I just hooked up my old laptop with the VGA and it was pretty crazy, it worked albeit very badly - the screen had flickering lines and there were pink bars instead of black bars but for all I know it could be a bad VGA cable. But after that I tried with the mini-displayport->hdmi method that previously worked and it still doesn't work.

Hmm...have you tried anything else to the TV? Like TV or a DVD/Blue Ray player?

Though wrong colors do often end up being a bad cable in my experience...and speaking of that...do you have another HDMI cable around you could try at least temporarily?

I'm gonna try hooking up my PS3 to it to try and reset the HDMI settings, tried a different HDMI cable to no avail.

Well I can't get my PS3 hooked up, don't know if it's the TV's problem or the PS3's problem, on some TV's I hook up the PS3 to I need to connect it with composite cables and manually change the resolution then switch back to HDMI since the built in hard video reset doesn't work. Problem is I don't own any composite cables right now so I can't test it either way, and I don't have anything else I can use to to test the HDMI.

All out of ideas now jealoussmiley.gif

Here's a quote from another forum I found while googling to try find a solution, his explanation may be better than mine, that's exactly what's happening here. Unfortunately he didn't find the answer with that topic, or if he did, he didn't post the solution. But it might help people understand a bit more about exactly what's happening.

Problem:
I have a Dell, and am connecting two AOC monitors (models below) to it, one with the default VGA that comes with the monitor, and the other using a VGA>DVI adapter. The second monitor IS being detected. It has some sort of effect when first plugged in (both monitors go black, but only the original continues to display afterwards, the other just says "no signal"), both monitors show up in my devices, and I can adjust screen resolution on both monitors. My problem is that the second monitor (the one connected via DVI adapter) does not display anything; I can even drag windows to it (my mouse will leave my screen and what I assume it is doing is going to the other monitor, it isn't locked in the main monitor).

What I have "tried":
To the best of my limited ability, I have:
Looked up my monitors' models and downloaded applicable drivers (also I have tried going to their properties and updating drivers. Says they are up to date).
Inserted the disc that comes with the monitors, downloaded drivers and some screen+ program which doesn't seem to do anything.
Tried reducing the refresh rates and resolutions of both monitors, and of just the monitor which is not displaying.
Tried changing settings to Extend Display, Show Dekstop on 1 only, Show Desktop on 2 only, and Duplicate these displays.
Tried shutting down then turning back on my system, and restarting the system, in an effort to detect both monitors.

Noteworthy:
It's worth noting that my tower accepts DVI-D Dual Link (1 thin "band?" (not sure what it's called)). I have both tried to alter an VGA>DVI-I (1 Band and the 4 pins surrounding it) to be compatible with tower, which resulted in the problem above (it detects the monitor but doesn't display them). I also purchased (on amazon) the correct adapter, which attaches with no problems but does NOT cause my system to detect the second monitor, for some reason. I've tried restarting and shutting down then turning my system back on with both adapters, nothing happened either time (that I noticed).

Misc Info:
Tower: Dell XPS
Model: X8700-3646BLK
SKU: 2148418

Monitor: AOC
Model: I226Vw
Other: 215LM00040

The adapter I ordered from Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008XYFZUK/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The other adapter I am using is similar is size, shape, and color, the only differences being that the VGA In is colored black instead of blue, and the out is DVI-I.

This is everything I could think of, but if you need more information please let me know! Thanks smile.gif
