is that 3dmark run crossfire? also you need notepad with name on it and what team, 3dmark link would be helpful also, need notepad for catzilla as well. Other than that great runs! keep it up thumb.gif

You can't crossfire a 290 and a 7970, the Hawaii doesn't have crossfire connectors, it was a 280X. And yes, I was using them in a crossfire config for the class 2 submission.

First I think that is more fair because it is Green vs Red, second is I think this is nicer and a lot more fun for the people with lower hardware so they can at least compare the GPU scores they got with other forum members with the same GPU, instead of all the components which skews the score in all directions depending on which other hardware was used.

I also agree with this, but... Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
They have already taken time out of their days to host this competition and it would be more of their time wasted searching through all the results again to recalculate everything they have already done. redface.gif

But other than that, this idea has my vote for next years competition because people don't always have the cash to spend on i7's and such which really do boost your physics scores.

Looks like it can use all 12 threads of a hexcore in the physics test, but the benchmark isn't very cpu bound, higher gpu score on a lower clocked cpu or 4c/4t chip can pull ahead.

280x, I would say yes, both red team cards & if they can run xfire it should be OK.

Compared to other ones I've seen on here by Red Team, it does seem rather low... is this normal for a single 780? o_O;

Looks normal, AMD cards are doing better with Heaven bench than Nvidia, added this one in since Nvidia are generally scoring better in Firestrike & Catzilla.

Hey guys I've never ran the hwbot heaven before. Is there a way to enter through each test before restarting the the benchmark or is that the whole point of using the hwbot version? Is there a way to get around the stutter at the start of the test or is that normal.

But other than that, this idea has my vote for next years competition because people don't always have the cash to spend on i7's and such which really do boost your physics scores.

Another idea might to be run the competition with a benchmark that runs singlethreaded (3D03, or A3, etc) so i7 hexcores and quads are evenly matched against i5s perhaps that would level it out a little. Also maybe instead of SLI and Crossfire, running a single card but go back generations to see over history which team wins. Like this:

Team Red Team Green
R 2xx series GTX 7xx series
HD 7xxx series GTX 6xx series
HD 6xxx series GTX 5xx series
HD 5xxx series GTX 4xx series

But I'm biased since I mostly have older stuff right now and I'm liking this competition too, great to see these rigs posted and how badly I'm outclassed. wink.gif

Ya that stutter at the beginning is normal. It happens to me every time. You have to just run it by selecting the preset and it will do everything from there.

it's hard to do that because not every benchmark breaks down the score like that. Cat and heaven don't. it would be a 3dmark only comp.
