Can a displayport give different colors than a DVI?

Hello,

I bought two Asus PB238Q for my dual monitor set up. I have one hooked up via the DVI and one through the Displayport. The monitor that is hooked up by the Displayport seems to have washed out colors and definitely does not match the DVI monitor. I have the exact same settings, but it seems washed out and no matter what I do I cannot get the colors to match.

Thank you in advance for all help and responses

Remember that even though you bought two monitors of the same make and brand, they can look different.
Displayport should give just as good picture as DVI, if not better.

You could try to switch the cables, so the DVI one uses DP instead and vice versa. But I don't think it will change anything.

Try creating a custom resolution for the DP monitor in the Nvidia Control Panel and see if it changes anything. This can be 59.999Hz if you want it to be treated as 60Hz. Some monitors provide the incorrect colour signal using DisplayPort at 60Hz (Dell U2414H to give a recent example).

I went into the Nvidia Control Panel and actually did what was outlined in the article you linked. However, I found no difference. It is very weird. I am to the point where I am going to return the monitor. I love the color in the first one that I bought (the one hooked up to the DVI), so I bought the other one.

I have been on a monitor hunt for months and tested out many different monitors. The one that I really loved, the Acer H236HL, had a glossy screen and I could not get over the reflections. They were great. No color issues and one of the nicest looking pictures that I have seen. Geez...I don't know what to do.
