AMD 7950 GPU Usage Question - Page 2

Figured out the problem and fixed it. It had nothing to do with my CPU bottlenecking my GPU.

I changed these settings and I went from 45-50% GPU maximum to about 90% GPU usage in gaming and obviously got a lot better performance considering it's actually utilizing more than half of the GPU.

What I did was turn off vertical refresh in the CCC from ''off, unless application specifies'' to ''Always off''.

cool but you should be able to max out that game with a 7950 easy unless you don't want to. i play that using medium settings with a HD7770 and a Phenom quad at 4GHz.

I am playing it on ultra settings and it is very smooth and rarely dips under 90 FPS. I still plan on OC my 2500k to get even better performance.

so long as the minimums do not dip into the 40s - you are good. Fraps work with Tahitis really well. Average should be close to 60 at max settings of Ultra and 4MSAA. 2MSAA should be good enough.

this is what i got in MP 64 with the 7950 stock and i7 4.5 HT off (max settings 1080) . . .

i think that was caspian. it will dip lower during huge explosions, so an oc really helps.
