Do I need a resistor on LEDs if so, how big?

Hey guys,

I was thinking of purchasing a bunch of these LEDs http://www.frozencpu.com/products/1755/ele-03/5mm_White_LED.html

I was going to hook them up to the 5Volt line on my PSU but I don't want to burn them out. I was under the assumption that most of the LEDs run at like 3 volts. However I don't know how much amperage they are going to pull, so I don't know how to calculate my resistance. I have an OCZ ZX 1250W PSU. Wondering if anyone could help me out? Thanks! thumb.gif

For those specific LEDs, you want closer to 3.5v for maximum rated brightness.

Each LED needs about 30mA as per spec sheet.

Note, you can run LEDs in parallel and series to reduce wiring and resistors.

Ah, spec sheet. I didn't even think to look at that. Thanks a bunch!
