[TWITCH] NVIDIA unveils the Titan Z - Page 22

Pity. I really hoped for eight GPU cores with more than 3GB rap/core in my system. At this price, however, I’m far better off getting Quadros, which tells me clearly: “Stick to quad 770s and get it over with”.

You where able to get Nvidia Best GTX580 3GB for $550. Now That is 780 Ti and not with full vRAM for $200 more. You know that 780 is prices that high because of 1K Titan.

To everyone saying this card will appeal to the SFF crowd, please note that it is 2.5 slot. No ITX support unless you have a larger case.

People will still have a budget so the low to mid end markets will remain at the same price points... the only difference is that you will get less performance for the money than you would if these prices were dictated by the market instead of the duopoly.

I had a response ready for this about titan driving up the price of future x80 flagships but then on the next page I saw this..

Good grief. Trying to defend either company is a sucker's game if you ask me, they both stink.

Although from a marketing perspective perhaps the point is for people to say "well $3000 is a lot but I can get this $1000 Titan Black" get that upsell on someone who without the Z would be comparing the $700 780 Ti with the $1000 Titan Black and end up choosing the 780 Ti.

Even if they priced this $2K its still a big number associated with computer parts. Is the price telling us Nvidia cant make faster GPU without spending millions of $? Its like buying a fast car. People want GTR like performance but the only way to get better then have to build a 1 Million $ car.
Also its a 2 years old architecture. Its not like its some new Maxwell GPU with 4K core each. At least your Titan was performance unseen at the time with new core. We have seen Titan Z performance when Titan first came out.
