A Porsche Spyder 918 costs just as much as a LaFerrari from Ferrari but the Ferrari will make you look like a narcissist and the 918 won't?

He said often not always.

Hate to say it but the price of the 911 Turbo S 991 is creeping into Lamborghini Huracan territory...

if regular car companies priced their products like nvidia they'd be charging $200 000 for a toyota corolla by now.

if the high end performance car companies priced their products like nvidia they'd be charging 5 million dollars for a ferrari.

but we don't see this happening in the car industry, it's only our BS computer tech industry that thinks they can charge seemingly whatever the heck they want.

GPUs don't just double or triple in price because they're high end, they're just shafting us because they can.

DON'T RATIONALIZE THESE STUPIDLY HIGH PRICES BY CLAIMING THAT IT`S A "high end niche product".

Somebody didn't study economics. A common shortcoming.

If Toyota charged $200K for a Corolla, you would not buy it. You'd buy one of the dozens of other comparable cars in it's segment.

If Ferrari made a $5MM car, there would be buyers.

It remains to be seen whether there is a market for these cards, but Nvidia has spent a lot of time and energy on identifying market segments, studying demand, running through pricing strategies.

NVIDIA does not deserve pricing bashing. Titan does. That branding alone.

Wafer costs are high. The theory they are cheap has collapsed.

AMD proved it by trying to make a smaller chip to save costs and they failed. And don't tell me they cared about temperature. They obviously cared about price.

780 was priced reasonably. And right now, regular 780 is probably the most optimal card for the "cost effective enthusiast". Even the Ti maybe.

Wafers = the TSMC cuts of them
