You got 4k surround you are beyond gaming cards at this time and age.

Get a workstation card.

Max payne 3 gives an amount of vram its says will be used when you select 8x msaa

At 4k it gave me that 12gb number and please refer to my other comment, "if max payne is any kind of accurate"

I'm well aware gaming GPU's don't have 12gb of vram at this time, sir

Interesting....so your saying 6gb is good enough for 1 4k monitor, guess you would know, what with that trifecta of insanity you got there.....thumb.gif
OMG ! That is an absolutely stunning array of badassedness!!

What graphics card are you using?
If you can use MSI AB you can monitor VRAM usage.
Also please tell us if you have one or more GPUs.

Also, my old thread "6GB VRAM Used" (search it) showed the max usage w/ 8x MSAA in Crysis 3 w/ everything maxed out used about (allocated actually) 6109MB of VRAM (just over 6GB.

I've yet to see another screenshot anywhere near 6GB being used.

That was with 3 30" monitors in Portrait mode @ 5160x2560 (13.2MP). 4K resolution is around 8MP so I highly doubt 6GB would be used.

Here's Crysis 3 @ 4K (2160P) although I was playing at 5160x2560:

I am really waiting for a GPU that has 12GB VRAM. I actually NEED that kind of VRAM because:

That's 4K Surround btw (3 4K monitors in Portrait mode @ 6480x3840 -- 25MP)! biggrin.gif

Dudeeeeeee
Say bye bye to playable fps at games.

780 ti sli....

Don't have that 4k monitor anymore, waiting for DP 1.3 and possibly G-sync before I go back to 4k

Max payne estimates how much vram usage, but thats before you even start playing, so who knows how accurate....

Speaking of which, don't know how accurate afterburner is either thinking.gif

Because you totally need this thing in an ITX build to begin with...

If you're gonna spend that level of money making a super small gaming monster, just get a laptop with dual GPUs and go from there. It'll be smaller and pack just as much firepower, or close to it, for the price of this card alone. xD

I mean... in all reality, for the modern day gamer, a GTX Titan is well beyond what anyone NEEDS for high resolution gaming... Seriously. You guise are crazy. tongue.gif

2 way sli if you must know sir tongue.gif

My man up there, a few comments back, with the Triple-4k-Titan-Melter said that crysis 3 used about 6gb at 4k with 8xMsaa

The problem with VRAM reading is people have trouble drawing a distinction between usage and allocation

From what I understand at least....

nvidia milking us, keep pumping them cards out way too fast. guess more choice is good thing though.

how are they milking the consumer, they release decent budget gpus, like 150 bux get a 650 ti boost, not bad for latest games at 1920 res,
maybe for enthusiasts it gets kinda dumb because they put out really powerful gpus all the time too often.

how old is the titan now and how many new gpus are already out since then?
