I totally agree. It staggers me when people spend 6 figures on a Ferrari yet they still do it. I can a) think how silly they are b) feel envious or c) try to make the cash to afford one.

Don’t really like car comparisons. Having a Ferrari actually does positively impact someone’s life since it’s seen by a person’s: coworkers, bosses, subordinates, family, friends, and most importantly…neighbors. It boosts the users morale, self-image, and gives people what they want most in life which is fame, attention, and being better than other people. If this wasn't true then there would be no such thing as competition sports, sportscars, people lifting weights, skinny people, or big houses. Having a computer with a Titan Z(s) doesn’t have the same affect since the only people who would even give a crap are just fat anime nerds on forums and I have the right to say that since I’m one myself. Even if you bring your 80 pound Corsair 900D with 10 grand worth of water cooling & components to a LAN party or something it's still pretty pathetic in my opinion even though I secretly want to do it myself. Anyways back on topic.

I've bought every single generation of double GPU cards and I can safely say this will be the first generation I will skip and will probably never buy again if this keeps up. I would buy a GTX 790 for $1500 though since I can safely have 4 GTX 780Ti's without having to go water cooling or upgrade to a X79 or X99 platform just to accommodate 4 GPUs. I really want to go 4K monitor but I already know I won't be able to max out most new games at 60FPS with just 2 cards.

I think the Titan Z will separate the men from the boys, as it will truly test who the real enthusiasts are. Remember its not cheap being an enthusiast.

People are only hating the Titan Z bcoz they cant afford it.. Haters gonna hate. BTW the best doesn't come cheap, just like a sports car.

The only child is the one who doesn't understand how markets work and doesn't realize that the prices will go back to where they were if you make the intelligent decision and boycott these ridiculously priced cards.

I would disagree. The "men" would buy 4 GTX Titan Blacks or GTX 780Tis with full water-cooling. The "boys" would buy the Titan Z since they are too scared to learn how to water cool or want small cases that look like Apple computers since it seems to be trendy these days having a small desktop that doesn't move around anyway, or they are too lazy / unskilled to properly build their own computer and let someone like Alienware do it with 2 Titan Z's (oh never mind the biggest case they sell is only an MATX mid tower with 4 slots in the back) Just because you throw money at something unnecessarily doesn't make you an enthusiast. You could do it with cars for all the reasons I said above but not for GPU's.

That's rich. Apparently preferring ITX/mATX cases disqualifies you from calling yourself an enthusiast. I guess now i need to change my taste in cases to match your narrow definition of what "men" should use.

Discussion is about Titan Z not small cases. It's great that you like small cases and might want to get a Titan Z to have the most power out of your small case. That's fine. I've been itching to get the Digital Storm Bolt II. Or you can get a bigger case and save yourself $1000 to $2000 dollars for maybe a few more inches of room taken up on your desk / floor. If that's not what you want then that's probably the most expensive few inches of real-estate I've ever heard of in my life.

If you disagree then why are you so bothered by my comment? And why feel the need to provide a second opinion when clearly the Titan Z is the top of the range, as you will see when people are blown away by the overclocks this beast will give out.

The discussing is about the Titan Z, and yet your rant devolved into ITX users can't be enthusiasts. Moving on, I agree that the Titan Z is overpriced, and I'd never pay for it. If you've been keeping up with the thread you'd see that earlier I expressed the hope for a 790 (780x2) or 790 ti (780ti x2) card at a more reasonable price. Reasonable pricing is always in the eye of the beholder, which is what most of the people "defending" NVIDEA are trying to say. I personally would be willing to pay a little bit more for a dual GPU card, rather than 2 in SLI, because i AM an ITX user. My choice of case and motherboard prompt me to make that decision. To me the max markup of a dual GPU card that i'm willing to accept over it's 2 single-GPU counterparts is ~$200-250. I'd be happy to pay roughly 1100 for a 790, or 1500 for a 790 ti.

EDIT: You'd get some of that "extra" cost back by only having to pay for 1 waterblock, 1 backplate, a couple less fittings, no SLI-bridge, etc. if you're into that sort of stuff.
