Do plasticize problems affects temps? If yes, its like 1C or 2ºC? Or do they only affects the appearance of the tubing? thinking.gif

The big box hardware store tubing is terrible. I won't even use it for my fish tanks. Even the cheapest Masterkleer tubing I bought online has fared much better.

Is it really that bad? I'll head to Primo's anyway, seems like the best deal... no reason to spend US$ 500,00 on everything (rads, fittings, blocks, etc) and cheap on tubings, right? thumb.gif

Yes. And it depends on how long you let it be. Plasticizers are tiny particles which leech out of the tubing and float into the fluid and around your loop. If they get caught somewhere (or group up and get caught somewhere), they can start to reduce flow and eventually block it. If you want to use cheaper tubing, then you probably want to be cleaning your loop (which includes cleaning components) a lot more frequently than if you buy more expensive stuff.

Yeah, it is truly terrible. It invariably lost all flexibility and was impossible to force onto barbs. This was with big 3/4 and 1" ID tubing so it if it wasn't soft enough, it wasn't going onto the barbs, period.

Thanks for the info! I was really curious biggrin.gif

Indeed.. I used some hardware store tubings for a while (1month) and when I removed them, they were really hard...
It feels like it was about to leak really soon if I kept removing them for cleaning and putting them back

Wow! Pretty ugly plasticize... And I still know people who think that WaterCooler is no more than "Pretty green tubings" inside your PC.

Learning about it in this month I realize that its much more hard to do than I though... ph34r-smiley.gif

But in the end its worth the effort!

Going under water is new level for me, hope everything turn out ok! Snorkle.gif

Take it slow. Use the best quality components you can afford. LEAK check the loop before firing up all your other high dollar gear that might be ruined in the event of a catastrophic leak. Enjoy smile.gif

Yeah, I'm really trying to get the best I can afford, so far I've got 2 240d Magicool Rads, EK Sumpreme LTX GPU Block (Nickel Plated), Koolance 3/8" 1/2" Compression Fittings and this pump, I don't really know if its a good pump, but I'll make sure to test it before running my PC at 100%. I still need to buy the tubing, reservoir and coolant biggrin.gif

I know that those pieces are not the top, but it seem far enough for my 3570 and the GPU I'll buy, I don't know yet which one I'll get, but I'm really thinking about 2x GTX 770 or a single 780 Ti, or even maybe some red team stuff, 2x R9 280x or a single 290x. But thats for another time. I want to make the water loop fully functional before installing the GPU blocks. I need to learn about dual GPU blocking yet, after all theres two kinds of mountings, serial and parallel, still need to choose one. Snorkle.gif
