Hi everybody!
I have this problem: if i disable my internal graphic chip (on intel core i5 450m) and enable just my ati mobility radeon hd 5650 (my laptop is an acer 7745g) i have problem with my external 16:9 monitor...my graphic card detect it as a 4:3 monitor, and if i force the native resolution (1920x1080) it doesn't fix the monitor, and it show the resolution like this:

how to solve it? Thanks in advance

P.S.
Translation: "Grosso bordo nero" = Big black corner
"Risoluzione S.O. tagliata"= O.S. resolution cutted

what driver are you using? if you have AMD CCC installed, go to My Digital Flat Panel>Scaling options and see if you can just it.

actually, i have this problem on my hackintosh (aka mac osx on pc) partition, with windows i ain't no problem. I read around that is a VESA problem...infact, i dumped the vBios of my graphic chip and i found only 4:3 resolution in hex code...there is 1920x1440 but no 1920x1080...i tried to modify the hex code "1440" in "1080", but i can't flash my rom. In windows, with Gpu-z, win flash or via dos with atiflash.exe it's impossible to dump the vbios (i dumped it, infact, thanks to a software on os x, but just dumped, i can't flash anything)
1) do you think that modifying the hex code in bios and flashing the modified one will solve this problem?
2) if yes, how to flash rom?

anyway, thanks for the answer
