Razer abyssus has bouncy scroll

Thread Starter
My 2 or 3 year old razer abyssus recently started bouncing back up a little bit when I scroll down quickly. Any fix?

Mine does this as well and has for pretty much as long as I've had it. It's kind of annoying. Sometimes it will scroll an extra line going down and sometimes it will go down and then scroll back up one line. Other than that I love the mouse.

Did you really make an account just to say your mouse does the same thing?

Really helpful...

Lol! I'd open it up an see if you have a loose spring. It's possible that something got jarred out of place over the last couple years. I've never had that issue with my Deathadders, but I'm not sure if they use the same scroll wheel/button combo.

Some dust got into the wheel sensor mechanism. Open up the mouse and spray some WD-40 into the thing and roll around with it for a bit, that should fix the problem. Don't forget to cover the rest of the mouse so you don't splash the WD-40 everywhere while applying it.

I suggest a product called contact cleaner instead of WD-40. WD-40 is a penetrating lubricant not meant for cleaning electrical connections.

This is correct. WD-40 is also apt to causing plastic to turn very brittle.
