Also I would love you input as I make progress on this build since you are already planing SC, I think any insite would be great! What specs do you run it on? thinking.gif

Hey ah wow I wish I had a big bro into tech, mine is into real guns and killin afganis (legit) lmao.

Look your build is really nice.
Spec wise I will tell you the truth of how it stands currently.

The game is unknown, it has not come out yet, and pre-alpha (not even alpha) will not come out for another few months speculation is by summer 14 for pre alpha.

As of now there is only what we call "Hanger Mode" where you could see your ship in the garage and THATS IT.
Now on 1440p with 8320 and 780 all OC and ultra settings i hit 50FPS on average (more or less I would need to log into game to give you exact #)

The game will be a very HEAVY game load however, it will be HIGHLY optimized for both mantle and nvidia.

HOWEVER, Robert (person who owns this damn game) is a perfectionist and also has the philosophy and is "promising" that he will push hardware to its limits where the PC should be at.

Now IF, and only IF these statements hold true, then YOU and everyone (anyone who owns SC currently early backers) are holding on the hardware upgrades bc NOONE knows anything other than what I have stated.

I know this seems like a bumer but AT least I hope it helps you get some sort of sense on what you can do with that current rig and it spec build. (Which means sli/XF and other things will be optimized as well since Robert is negotiating with Nvidia AND AMD for driver support)

Hope this helps!

Update/edit: Also on a side note, he is thinking of using oculus rift, and the SC community is fully supporting this idea, so IF this is true, then (i assume) gpu may not matter bc the headset wouldnt use as much juice as a huge monitor (right?)

edit2: AMD is currently "preferred" card by Robert from what I know bc of mantle but take this grain of salt too

Update:

http://themittani.com/news/star-citizen-dfm-unveiling-pax-east

Dog fighting module or the 1st glance at playing game (pre-alpha) will come out in less than 13 days, april 10th (possibly) based on those stats you can use better info on how to modify rig if necessary if its still being debated on what to use.
