How to tell if a game has input delay at a particular resolution?

This may be an odd question but a game I play (indie MMO with free aim - Darkfall Online) feels a bit sluggish in 1080p vs. a smaller reso like 1280x720. Is there anyway to actually test if it's true or placebo?

hey man, fellow darkfall player here. it is definitely terrible at larger resolutions, and most players have made the switch to 720p a long time ago. if you really need definitive proof, you could get a camera & record yourself clicking or turning the mouse and then playing the footage back frame-by-frame (or you could do a little bit of tweaking a la blurbusters: http://www.blurbusters.com/gsync/preview2/). the absolute best proof would be hardware based, but with how visible it is, you could easily do it by just recording yourself playing.

trust me, it's not placebo.
