For all you know this is a screen capture of a RROD xbox as I'v had xbox 360's do weird things before they kick the bucket. In MW2 the heartbeat sensor spanned across my entire screen outside of the box on the gun effectively revealing the entire enemy team to me then a couple hours later my Xbox was dead.

Really? Considering the whole thing is on Github...

I dont think alot of games reach the 25GB barrier judging from PSN download file sizes, GTA 5 is apparently 17-18GB, the 360 has two discs. LBP2 last time I checked was hovering around 9GB supposedly too. Unless they are larger once installed or on disc.

For them to be bigger than a 360 equivalent multi plat game wouldn't alot of the content on the disc be uncompressed or something or do the discs get filled to their full capacity? Judging from my ripped PS2 games I think almost all of them, if not all of them at 4.7GB, DVD-5's full capacity.

I think the 360 games are DVD-9 which is 8.5GB so you're probably right about the file sizes.

About the OP, this is an amazing start, I wonder why were starting to see decent 360 and PS3 emu production after the next gens have released? Still going to be amazing, I would love to play a couple PS3 games at 1080p.

I'm going to call out what I think will be the most demanding titles to emulate for that platform, Uncharted titles, Killzone titles and the Last of Us alongside the Infamous series, there might be more though but these are mostly 1st partys.

The SPEs are probably like hell to emulate.

I'd expect the 360 emulator to take off faster and possibly perform better in multi-plats.

there is a limit to how many threads they can utilize because of marginal returns, i brought this up on the Dolphin forums and that's what i was told.

what i find more interesting is how similar the Wii U is too the wii and GameCube (same type of chip [IBM Power PC]) I wonder how soon we could have a Wii U emulator. Specially considering the Wii U is on par with the 360 and PS 3. (they'd get sued to the moon though)

Why would they get sued? wasn't Dolphin and PCSX2 around in the GC, Wii and PS2's lifetime?

Wii U emulation will probably be a lot more demanding on the hardware since there's more cores and they run at a higher clock speed not sure how effectively it would scale on multi-core processors, it could be easier than the PS3 and 360 though CPU-wise and their emu development is underway (Xenia, RPSC3) most things point toward the CPU being weaker than the PS3 and 360 but the GPU is apparently faster.

yeah back ... well here you can see why they weren't a threat to the console they emulated back then.

Where as now if they emulated the Wii U it would probably being playing games much sooner and better than GC and PCSX ever did when they were current gen consoles.
