Mercury S5 question.

Was hopin to fit a 360 in the top and a 280 in the flex bay. I really wanna go with a 280 in the front so that I end up with a whole piece of flexbay.

So here's my thought. If I get the extended 36mm top I gain some space on top of the 280 flex. Now whats the space between the top flex and the top rad mount? Will a 30mm Alphacool ST30 raid fit in side the case with fans push in the top or option no.2 put the radiator in the extended top and place the fans (25mm) inside the case and have em pull?

Either of those options would work. I personally would prefer fans in the extended top, pushing into the radiator below. If for no other reason than that it would be easier to do your tubing. Correct me if i'm wrong S5 owners, because i haven't seen a whole lot of people use a 280 in front, but i believe you could use a XT45 (or any other similar 45mm rad) with that same configuration.

Doubt I'll be able to use a 45mm rad cause I'm hoping to put the connectors to the front of the case.

Thanks for the reply. No offence but I've been looking at pictures and been tryin to find someone with a similar setup but w/o luck. I'd love to hear from the Caselab team or someone that have this kinda setup cause from what I can see it looks bloody tight.

Fair enough. I've never seen or heard of anyone doing the top radiator with the inlet/outlet at the front, but to each his own. There's always room for innovation! Doing it the other way makes for such short organized runs though. Here's a useful picture I saw concerning a great loop setup. It's in the S3, but it's still applicable because the S5 is basically the same layout just a longer rad on top wink.gif

Yeah Im putting a rad and hopefully pump/res in the HDD compartment and having a acrylic plate separating the top and bottom part of the case so the loop will be alot different.

That sounds fun! You should do a build log, I love reading them. We can never have too many S3/S5/S8 build logs smile.gif

Guess I might use the thread for this one aswell, HDD stealth mount? S3 has is and so does the S8 but I can't seem to find one for the S5?

I actually asked them a similar question. I wanted to know if the S3 mount would work on the S5 since there wasn't one, this was the reply from Caselabs as of Feb 28th:

Hello!

Sorry, it will not. It is however at the top of the list for new accessories.

Ah cheers!

Will wait for that then, shipping just the stealth mount separate to Sweden would be hard to justify cost wise wink.gif

Hm... I'm probably gonna run in to some trouble with the acrylic plate and the motherboard tray so to solve this I'll most likely end up removing the MBtray and mounting the motherboard on top of the acrylic. This means that it would be sooo much nicer if I could get rid of the "Mid-Chassis" and replace it with another "Motherboard Tray Support". Anyone know if this is possible, would it make the case wobbly(lack of a better word)? Looking at the pictures I don't see why it wouldn't be.
