It would, sort of. Just the case. Switch to the Phenom ITX instead of the m-atx version i suggested. Also just realized that I built you that last list in Canadian moneys.
Here is a good ITX motherboard, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157374&clickid=xpyXl8RLYXH0XssVxaQA0RicUkTT6L1UEwCtys0&iradid=97618&ircid=2106&irpid=79301&nm_mc=AFC-IR&cm_mmc=AFC-IR-_-na-_-na-_-na
Gives you the same expandability level as the last board minus the extra pci-e slots. Though if you never overclock, this will work, http://www.microcenter.com/product/417350/H87M-ITX_LGA_1150_mini_ITX_Intel_Motherboard

Heres an ITX build, I failed above, it is possible for you to get into a mini-ITX rig.
CPU: Intel Core i3-4330 3.5GHz Dual-Core Processor ($124.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: ASRock Z87E-ITX Mini ITX LGA1150 Motherboard ($129.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: A-Data XPG V1.0 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory ($67.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB Video Card ($149.99 @ NCIX US)
Case: BitFenix Phenom Midnight Black Mini ITX Tower Case ($79.99 @ TigerDirect)
Total: $552.95

Here's one with the cheaper board, but its overbudget. Not worth it IMO to get the cheaper motherboard to save like $40.
CPU: Intel Core i5-4430 3.0GHz Quad-Core Processor ($179.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: ASRock H87M-ITX Mini ITX LGA1150 Motherboard ($94.99 @ Micro Center)
Memory: A-Data XPG V1.0 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory ($67.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB Video Card ($149.99 @ NCIX US)
Case: BitFenix Phenom Midnight Black Mini ITX Tower Case ($79.99 @ TigerDirect)
Total: $572.95

Awesome! Thank you. I noticed when you scaled back on the motherboard you upped the processor. is the i3 good enough for games? If I were to drop on MOBO quality, why would I not also go with an i3?

The i3 and 750ti match up great, some games the CPU will bottleneck, some games the GPU will. You will do just fine gaming with an i3. Plus with the better mobo, you can get something like an i5-4670k or i7-4770k or E3-1234 v2 (Xeon) and overclock (except with the xeon) and be better off. Honestly, the i5 would be nice, but your GPU is too weak to really make use of it, if that makes sense.

Ah.. this is what I was really wanting to get at. I don't play a ton of games... the ones that I am looking forward to won't be out for some time anyway (fallout and half life 3). I do play Day Z, TF2, older fallouts and elder scrolls, etc. I guess CIV will the the only real CPU intensive game. I don't mind a slight OC on the processor... and will OC the video card at least what the drivers naturally let me do. I just don't want to dump 80 bucks into cooling. Does that help at all?

Just go with the i3, upgrade to the either the i5-4670k or E3-1234 v2 down the road. If you get the 4670k, get your self like a $40 AIO 120mm watercooler (they are super simple to install, just as easy as a normal heatsink, and will give you great overclocks). You wont need it with the e3-1234 v2 because you cant overclock it. But apart from Crysis 4 (when it comes out) and DayZ (very unoptimized) it sounds like your gunna be good with an i3 for now. Remember, having a better motherboard also means better power distribution, larger lines and ultimately lower motherboard temps (and a little less ram temps). thumb.gif

Aside from those mobo's listed: I recommend this one too:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128567

I loved my i3 when I had it and it ran the games I played fine, but I started noticing a real slow down when I needed to do my graphic designing stuff. Not sure if it applies to you, just wanted to mention it just in case:thumb:

I like that board too but he would have to change to an 1155 CPU, which is older.

Woops indeed your right, wasn't thinking!

But now that I think about it, you might be able to save a couple bucks and pick up a used 3rd gen i3 or i5

Dont buy used unless you have to, I've learned that the hard way. I'm still trying to get my RMA's done for my rig.

I'm fairly lucky then, most of my setup in the sig below is used. But I can see your point i'm super careful and conscious when buying used parts
