Sorry for my bad grammar, was using my iphone at work earlier today. Basically from what I found FX firstname.lastname@example.orgGHZ performs equal to a 4670k @ stock.
With that said, with 4k coming to the horizon i'll need all the FPS I can get. I'll say this again, so I can be clear about my choices. EVGA is the only company I had 0 issues with great support for the past 10 years.
Does Asus make a great motherboard? Yes
Could I find something that would be equal to EVGA product for less? Yes
If I'm going to spend the money I'm going to get what I want, and that's EVGA products. I already have a Asus build which is great, but support team sucks. Took my 3 hours to get customer support to help my with a installing issue on a DOA motherboard I got for a friend.
Can my AMD build play any game maxed out? Mostly yes, but when I step up to 4k the 7970 CF/FX 8350 won't cut it.
4670k oced to 4.5 GHZ and purchase the GTX 780 SLI will give me the FPS I'm looking for @ 4k. GTX 780ti is a better GPU, but 780 is one of the few 4k supporting GPU's that hasn't been effected by bitcoin. IMO it's the better bank for buck in end gaming PC.
Only issue is motherboards Asus makes one with x16/X16 PCI for half the price of EVGA, but i'll be in same boat with the PC I have now. With that said, if I can't get the EVGA Classified for great price good changes I'm not going to upgrade till the june with the new chipset is released.
SO get the FTW with x8/x8 in my budget or blow budget for something that make not be worth it in the long run.
Any advice. ThanksEdited by kratikos - 3/26/14 at 8:42pm
