Need to downgrade and I could use some help with budget gaming build, please.

Hey everyone,

I have to sell off a bunch of stuff, and yep, the big rig has to go. I can, however, spend around $500-600, on a new budget rig. I would like to try and keep it as close to the former, if I can. I have the monitor, OS, optical drive and and SSD/HDD.

So, what do you guys think? Is it realistic to think that I can build a rig for that price and still play games on decent settings? I play everything from the Total War series to the Battlefield series and from sports games to Skyrim with mods. I am all over the map.

Thank you in advance for any and all help, suggestions and advice that you have for me.

well i would go for a 4670k and a 660
the 660 should play all the games you want, and the i5 will make sure your not shooting yourself in the foot. However the 660 and the i5 will not perform on the same lvl as the 780 and 3770k do. Just keep this stuff in mind

also dont know what you all already have since this could effect parts choices

sorry let me fix what i said is the parts you listed above all you have for the new build?

Man $500 budget for a gaming rig is tough but the gpu range you will be looking at is a gtx660 or r9 270x with an i3 processor if you want intel. If you try to step into the i5 territory which would help out on gaming too, Im sure we will easily be pushing $700 once you get a mobo, ram, psu, etc.

Might want to grab a AMD card and mine with it when you're not using it if money is tight. A r9 270x would be great.

I think it may be possible with a i3 and nvidia 760. If you cheap out on the MOBO (since i3's don't OC anyway) you may be able to pull it off.

Im going to have to agree but the board should be at least half way decent for upgrades in the future
