Best GPU for under $500 - Page 6

If you don't mind used you can get a 290x for that. People are currently dumping them.

I just a windforce 290x on ebay for $515, I asked the seller for his original receipt so I would have it for warranty purposes, although I don't gigabyte needs that. Some like MSI you can register online. It had the box and was just like new... The reference ones can be had for under $500.

This windforce is running strong as I expected it to as it obviously made it through a burn-in period with its previous owner. All of the output ports work as expected...

Originally, I had a NEW r9 290x windforce from superbizz and it died after several hours. Had to return it. I got a pair of MSI twin frozr's and had to exchange one of those because the displayport did not work. If the ebay seller did not happen to have the receipt then I would have just reprinted the one from superbizz and saved that in my box. He did though smile.gif

This is the 2nd time I have gotten a like-new-used GPU with good results.

This one also happens to have the highest ASIC quality out of any of the other boards gone through...

Since your mITX I would definitely go with the reference 780! with SFF you really want a blower style card so your not dumping all that extra heat into the case.

That's a great price for that card. Just be aware that the cooler on those things is very loud.

Not even remotely interested in Crossfire/SLI.

And yes it would be enough. Remember the Capstone is a Gold rated PSU @ 45.5A. Hell I can run a GTX 780 TI/TITAN/R9 290X no issues.

He is running this.

Intel 4670K
Asus Maximus VI Gene
Asus ROG Front Base
Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB 2400MHz
Corsair H100i
Asus GTX 780 Ti DirectCU II
240GB Corsair Neutron SSD
1TB Western Digital Green
Corsair RM450
