Will an H80 be enough for an FX 6300? - Page 4

Hmm... let me say this to you guys discussing the maximum temperature.

My chip shut down my system when it hit 72°C. It has been stated that they need to stay under 62°C. If you want to stress the chip, you can go over. Nut the highest it should be running regularly is below 62°C. I'll be back with links in a bit.

If your really worried about temps and overclock, do what I did. Spend the money on actual watercooling. I made the jump from a Corsair H70 core with a SP120 to a full blown copper EK/XSPC kit. 28c idle, 40c load. Once I get better airflow in the case and lower my ambient temps via AC, I could see mid to low 20's on idle and mid to high 30's on load.

I use the h80i on my 8350

4.8ghz @ 1.47v LLC ultra high

At load:
CPU Core 48C
CPU Socket 56C

If you've got decent airflow the h80i does a decent job up to 4.8ghz on the 8350 (or there abouts as not all chips are equal), but it isn't suited for anything over that.

The voltage ramp required after 4.8ghz requires at least a h100i or a custom water loop
