Need some help with a quick SLI issue - Page 5

That might be one way to handle it. I've always just used the sync function whenever I've used PrecisionX or Afterburner. There's no reason un-linking shouldn't work though. Strange that your fan profile isn't sticking for the 2nd card when you've got the GPUs synced.

I'll have to admit, when I went from my GTX 570 cards to these GTX 670 cards I had to completely re-educate myself on how overclocking / underclocking, boost clocks, TDP, temperatures etc. worked on the new Kepler architecture.

I'd say to give it a try and see what your results are. Good luck.

cheers!
Yeah I realised they were getting hot - then opened AB - and suddenly both fans ramped up like crazy lol.

Even though I'm running MSI cards right now, I actually still prefer to use PrecisionX instead of Afterburner. Might be force of habit and familiarity, but it just seems to work without any drama (I'm sure plenty can say the same about Afterburner too though).

The main difference I've found is when using Afterburner you can supposedly unlock the MSI triple-overvoltage option. However it appears that sometime last year MSI locked down the BIOS (rumor has it that nVidia "imposed" their will here). So it doesn't work any way. At least not using the latest official BIOS for my gpus + latest nVidia drivers + latest Afterburner (beta 19 if I recollect).

tbh they have the exact same functionalities, just different skin IMO

Yeah that definitely did help - separating the AB thing and having it un-ticked.
GPUs don't get past 75c now.

I also decided to switch the direction of my CPU cooler. Thus it is now taking air from the inside and pushing it out the case, rather than vice-versa. That's helped case temps.

On another note: had my whole system shutdown - almost like an overload of the socks (even my lights went off lol) - ie nothing to do with PSU - but I must be drawing lot of power from those wall sockets 0.0!

I'll bet you freaked out when the power went down smile.gif

Glad that the tweaks have helped.

I hope it's not anything else - well it can be seeing as my whole system went off and on (sound system etc)

Thought to update you guys - been running pretty well.
BF4 is broken though, so it stutters, rubberbands etc.

I've OC'ed my MSI GTX680 now, in-line with my KFA2 - so now they're both running at the same HIGHER speeds. Whereas before they were both running at the same LOWER speeds.
Seems to have improved my FPS quite a bit actually +52 core clock on the MSI.

I might OC the memory a little - but I'm worried about temps. They're in the 80s - which is high to me - and the fans are running at FULL BLAST.
I need to either flash the BIOS (which I think I'll be doing)
Or
Even better - get 2 liquid coolers for the 2 GPUs - that would be epic biggrin.gif
