Best Static Pressure Fans? - Page 3

True... but my fren had bought it and he said it was better than his sp120... Wanna see who else share the same thoughts or what other opinions you have in regards to this fan..

Honestly, there is no comparable fans to the Gentle Typhoons in terms of a balance of radiator airflow & noise, but a whole lot of others that come in a distant cumulative 2nd place - all comparably the same - take your pick. Just look at Martin's test results ...

Martin's Rad airflow to Noise level chart

Full size image link

That chart shows each fan's rad airflow to noise level curve. The closer the fan's curve is to the bottom right corner of the chart the better its balance is of radiator performance vs noise. As you can see, the Gentle Typhoon lineup stands well apart from all the others, or, if you really don't mind louder, but with a similar performance curve, then there's the Delta VHEs, but other than that they're all just one big glob bunched together so you can't hardly tell one from another.

I would like to throw in XSPC Xinruilian 1650. Dirt cheap, ($9), quiet, awesome static pressure. AP-15 are awesome, but over $20 a fan, not worth it.

25mm Yate Loons are also great budget radiator fans. I'm assuming the 38mm variants would do even better on a thick rad, but the bearings are louder.

Yates are good budget fans. But they don't like to be mounted horizontally.
They will make more noise and not last as long.

No question, Delta fan are generally louder than most of your average fans if you are on full tilt. But who the hell would do that all the times. It will only ramp up when it needed and than the fan noise level ramping down to where ever I set it. I have no problem with it. My system is been used every day and have no issue with not hearing a conversation. The only time the fan is at full tilt is when I am doing benching or stress test. See the sample video for your self. In the video there are only 3 delta fan 5500rpm pwm .

Oh yeah I can imagine those things get noisy. I don't think I would put any in my machine.

I have AP-45 ones, and at 800 rpm 8 of them on a 480 rad are completely quiet.

Gentle Typhoon is the undisputable king of rad fans.

I would love to see newer benches with the new CM Jetflo's squaring off against GT's. Cause those CM fans have been making waves lately.

Hi there.

Have you tried and liked the Blademasters before, didn't you?

Then I'm just curious what's your thoughts about the AP-15's vs Blademasters?
Blademasters are ok. But they are an old design and can be very noisy at high RPM. The CM jetflo's are much better fans. They move a LOT of air and included in the package are low speed resistors so that you can lock them to either 1200 or 1600RPM

Disclaimer: I ripped this chart off of someone else in another post biggrin.gif
Nothing on the new Jetflo's. So it looks like an old review. I know I been sprouting a lot of JETFLO FTW!!!!!!!! But these are AMAZING fans and I really recommend people try them. I used a lot of fans in my time. Corsair's, Bitfenix, CM BladeMaster and Xtra Flo, Aercool Sharks (Not Noctua WAY TOO UGLY!). And nothing comes close. My temps are the best they have ever been! And even at full tilt they aren't really noisy IMO (noise is subjective) you just here the sound of, well wind blowing, cause there is a lot of that going on.

After owning a few sets of fans and asking everyone about the GT AP-15, my mindset totally changed when I got a fan in hands.

I would have much rather payed a premium for the ap-15's in the first place then ever wasted money on "cheap" "good" fans.

I still think they are worth every penny at $20. biggrin.gif

Trick is finding them nowadays. I find that on frozen's website they keep popping in and out of stock in 10 ct supplies. So just set up an email alert and wait thumb.gif
