Corrosion with different materials?

My friends, I have a new question: Would I have problems with corrosion when using a stainless steel reservoir with a copper radiator and nickel (EN, from EK) blocks?

Thanks biggrin.gif

thanks and yeah, +rep!
As I know, the community loves pics from members' loops, so tomorrow I'll upload some, to show how my project is till now. I had some leakings problems but nothing critical... thank god I followed members sugestion to never test the first loop with the computer on, otherwise my gpu would have fried. biggrin.gif

They are close to each other on the galvanic chart.
But they are not identical.
So saying there won't be a problem is too objective IMHO.
All dissimilar metals will corrode each other over time, all of them.
Nickel, stainless, and copper might be relatively safe but they are not exactly the same.
That makes a four metals soup, if you include the pewter in your rads, and.....and the brass in your rads will be a fifth metal.

I would use an anti-corrosion, like X1 just to be safe.

Yeah, I heard about corrosion with long time of use, but its fine for me, I just don't want something that I have to chance pieces within at least 1 year of use...

To be honest, I'm doing more as a hobby, or making truth of my child wish, since the first time I saw pictures of watercooled computers on my info magazine I was intended to have one some day... My father never gave me money for that kind of luxe, but now I'm 21 year old and I have a job (finally! biggrin.gif) and my own money.

Anyway, thanks for the info!

And I'm here to say that at this time I'm underwater Snorkle.gif

After 17 hours working on this computer, its all functional and dry.

I had to modify my raidmax agusta... I really like this case but its not very much of a water cooler friend... it has NO place to put radiators :<<br /> Well I can use 1x 120mm, I think.. but its really not enough for a CPU + GPU loop :|

This "Reservoir" (1l coke bottle rolleyes.gif) was for a test using a submersible pump outside water, but it show'd some bad leaking so I removed it and put it back to my fish tank.

Leakings biggrin.gif
)

I already ordered the EK CPU block, a "normal" pump and the reservoir.

For the reservoir I asked for a friend that works in a pipe shop to make me a 200mm reservoir from a 2" stainless steel pipe.

Its going to be something like this

It'll feel different from the acrylic reservoir, I loved the external visor. thumb.gif
