[GSM ARENA] Android twice as stable as iOS, study shows - Page 11

At the end of the day, it would seem that if there were one clear winner between the two, the majority of people would have that device and that is not the case.

End useless ramble.

I own an Android device and I don't like apple but even I can't believe this chart, the only phones that can achieve something like that in the android platform are probably the HTC one or the Xperia Z line since their UI is actually pretty decent but common 2x as stable that's just hard to believe

I don't think I would really agree with this...I have to hard reset my Android phone much more than I did my old Apple phone. Though it isn't like I have to do often. Stability is the least concern I have on any phone. Though I am sure every one's mileage will vary and some people will have a horrible time with this.

Though I do get the feeling that apps purchased though the Apple Store are better quality than all the much that Google lets get on the play store. I think I had to try three different flash light apps to get on that actually worked without locking up the phone. Ebook readers are even worse. Took quite a while before I found one that I liked and that worked as I was expecting ("Cool Reader" is the name of it if you happen to be looking for one).

Just throwing in. I've only had OS crashes and freezes once on official Android. Its a lot more common on Cyanogenmod, though in their defence its not a Stable ROM. Only Snapshot

Just btw guys it's only talking about apps crashing, not the actual OS.

If they included how often Simpsons Tapped Out crashes on my phone the Android figures wouldn't look so good thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif . Whoever makes that game needs to sort the crashing out....

I know. Neither OS has apps that crash with any kind of consistency to make it a problem.

I've owned 4 android phones (droid, EVO, and thunderbolt) and every one of them were less stable (OS and apps) than my iPhone 4S. Im actually back to one of my thunderbolts because it can tether 4G while talking on the phone but come september im going back to iOS.

Yea, I came back into the thread to add this as well after reading their slides fine print.

This entire article is about Apps, and not the OS' themselves; the title of the article is just a flat out lie considering the report is about Apps.

I have owned both Android and iOS devices. I definitely had more issues with older Android devices, so at the time I would say my iPhone 5 was more stable, but since getting my GS4, I haven't any trouble with crashing.

What makes that even more amazing is I am on an older bootloader that was cracked, and running CM11 instead of Samsung's own software. In the past, running a custom OS usually meant more crashing, but it has been rock solid since Jellybean, and then KitKat were released.
