PC only showing one ram stick?

soo after letting my friend borrow my memorystick for her to use until she was able to get her own, i ran into an issue when installing it back in mine
im using 2x4gb gskill sniper ram and i running into a strange problem. my pc is only picking up one stick. ive tested the borrowed stick by itself and its fine i still boot but when i use both it still only shows im using one. Even the bios is only picking up one stick. B1 is empty and B2 is in use.

i havent cleared CMOS (due to losing my OC settings) but ill try that. but what causes this issue

Try loading your optimized defaults within your BIOS. If the sticks are seated properly, this should detect them. However, doing this will reset your settings in your BIOS.

Try putting the stick you got back from her into bank 1, and leave the other stick out for now. If it boots then at least you know the memory is good.

I have seen too much pressure applied to a heatsink cause a channel of memory to not be recognized.
