Oh, I didn't even think to ask about that. That can really limit your overclocking, but not for sure.

What's the make and model of your case? Or, if you don't know, then can you describe it? Do you know its exact dimensions? What is the case fan setup that you currently have?

Omg, you're right. That won't allow for very many tower heatsinks. My 690 is 8.39" wide according to the specs, and yours is only 7.09" wide, and I can tell you right now that I would NOT have been able to fit the Tuniq Tower 120 in there nor my Thermaltake Frio if my case were that narrow. So, I wouldn't know which air coolers you could use. However, you could always opt for an All-in-One water cooling system like the Corsair H80 or H100. Of course, those are super expensive.

I honestly don't know.

If you want to overclock the E8400 to like 4 GHz, then I recommend asking OCN in a new thread to recommend air coolers that will fit in a case that is 7.09" wide that will also make it possible to overclock the E8400 to 4 GHz.

If there's an air cooler that will fit and will do it, then I'm sure someone will know. Otherwise, an AIO water cooler (All-In-One) might be the only choice.

Edit: Wait. Before you do, open CPU-Z and tell me what the "Revision" field says. Does it say C0 or E0?

If you're finding $80 Kuhler 620s for $30 on eBay, then he should be able to find Corsair H80is for about the same as well. I don't know which one is better, but hey...

i would also agree with this, getting a used q6600 might be a nice upgrade and then overclocking the snot out of that might give you more life on your old system smile.gif

If you do, then make sure it's a G0 revision (G zero) and not a B2.
