Video Card RMA - Draining & QDCs

Thread Starter
Hey guys,

I'm probably gonna have to send my 780Ti Classy in for RMA soon because of constant driver crashes but I'm worried about long my computer will be out. I could put my old heatsink on my CPU and run off integrated for a while after draining.

Since I'm gonna have to go back to FrozenCPU and buy some more Mayhem's and tubing, would it be worth it/effective to buy 4 more QDCs for my CPU and GPU? That way I would be able to remove one component, then take some left over tubing and hook everything back up without having to drain my whole loop if I need to do maintenance again. I'm currently using Bitspower QDCs and they are kind of long, so I'm not sure how much they would get in the way for my CPU/GPU blocks. I should have enough room in my Enthoo Primo, but are there any good quality but smaller QDCs I could use? I have 3/8x1/2 tubing with G1/4" threads.

Also, any tips for when I drain my system for the first time? Not sure what to expect but is it just as simple as removing the 1QDC I have from my res to pump (bottom most tube) and letting it drain?

QDC's are expensive and rather restrictive.
I wouldn't bother unless you have an external rad.

And if you just unplug your QDC's, they won't drain, unless.you have very poor quality QDC's.
Let say your unplug your male QDC, you'd have to connect it to a free female QDC to allow for the coolant to drain out.
