Bought this about a month ago and I am totally happy with it. It's a beautiful ultrabook with a gorgeous screen and excellent battery life. You'll have a hard time finding an ultrabook built this well with such a good display at this good of a price.

Specs:

Intel Core i5-4200U (1.6GHz) Processor
13.3" QHD+ LED Touchscren (3200 x 1800)
4GB DDR3 Memory
128GB SSD
Intel HD Graphics 4400
4-Cell Battery
2x USB 3.0
720p HD Webcam
Windows 8.1

From Slickdeals -"Price Comparison: Our research indicates that this touchscreen ultrabook is $231 lower (19% savings) than the next best available price from a reputable merchant with prices starting at $1,230. -TofuVic"

Edit: Really botched this thread, double posted instead of hitting preview *facepalm*

Other than the display those specs are pretty lackluster for $1,000.

It is competing with a MBA 13" give or take. ~3lbs.
MBA 13 ~ $1300, 900p slightly slower CPU, slightly better IGP, clearly better battery life (think the 3K is a killer in autonomy pushing more CPU usage in scaling, that's true with rMBPs too).
The $1500 MBA 13 beats it in CPU too, but this Sammy is a good 3K utlrabook regardless.

It is all about portability and fine performance in web/office suites while maintaining good battery life (i.e. in the 8+ hr range for a whole working day away from grid).

Not many "powerhouses" in absolute terms can fit that role.

Can you find one just as light and well built with better specs for $1000? Because I'd like to know lol

You're not paying for a gaming laptop or workstation. Your paying for how freaking thin this thing is, the display helps too.
Microsoft needs to figure out the DPI scaling however.

A MBA 13" with similar specs (i5-4250U, which with both cores active turbos 10 bins, the i5-4200 is 1.6 and turbos 7 bins with two cores, basically the same CPU performance) and a better GPU, a more than likely much faster SSD is only $1099. Yes, it has a lower DPI display, but 900p is fine for 13" as far as I am concerned. MBA also has a significantly better build quality and doesn't use a power jack that snaps off if you drop the thing plugged in. Also, has AC wireless and Thunderbolt.

You have to read specs within context, a context that sometimes is hard to understand without 1st hand experience.

Bashing 15.6~16" laptops with 768p I understand.

11.6" and 768p is leads to way above average ppi - around 130. A 24" 1080p is 92 ppi.
Same wit the 900p 13". It is above average.

And ppi, without seamless scaling, is not something you want to go up. A 11.6" 1080p is actually BAD in my opinion. Way to hard to distinguish UI elements without scaling - and ofc most programs don't have scalable UI. So it is either "doubling" everything - what the 1800p screens do over 900p oriented UI, or "nothing" as effective.
