What do I need?

Thread Starter
Hi, I've decided to water cool my 2 MSI 780TFs. What I need to know is what do i need to purchase to make things go smooth? First I'll start off with my current set up:
1) Swiftech MCP655 pump with an EK reservoir/top
2) 1 240mm and 1 120mm radiators
3) Apogee cpu water block
4) Just for looks FrozenQ Helix reservoir.

I plan on purchasing:
1) 2 of these http://www.frozencpu.com/products/22128/ex-blc-1579/EK_GeForce_780_GTX_Ti_VGA_Liquid_Cooling_Block_-_Acetal_EK-FC780_GTX_Ti_-_Acetal.html?tl=g57c613s1928

and i'd like to configure the loop so that I don't have to buy another pump exclusively for the cards. I'm new to the GPU cooling so not sure what I need. I'll be running SLI, so if someone could tell me how many fittings I need, maybe if I need another radiator or not, or even if these blocks I plan on getting aren't good, you'd be doing be a great favor.

I have no clue what comes with GPU blocks so anything you guys could tell me to be prepared would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

I pulled this image from the WC forum..I'd like to do something like it

as far as the GPU set up goes

tubes, blocks, fittings, pumps.

I would grab 10' of tube, in case of mistakes, and for future changes.

I would just get a laing DDC for the head pressure or even a pmp-450S.

You will need 2 fittings per block/rad/res, and the rest is all in and out.

The component selection is probably the hardest part, but stick to what looks good and let us know the plan before you purchase so we can make sure everything is compatible.

which ek res/top do you have? a picture of your case and loop would help a lot.
your pump will be fine.
youll need at least another 240 rad, tubing, 4 fittings (2 for rad and 1 for each gpu block) and an sli bridge/terminal or connector.

and ek blocks, absolutely fine.

That pump is just fine.
I actually prefer your pump, a D5, over.DDC ones.
Runs cooler, and quieter too.

EK blocks are the best performers for VGA's
On my next build, I'm getting acrylic block covers so I can quickly visually inspect my blocks for corrosion, or gunk bubbled, ect....

The pic you show is of VGA's in series. I would try both series and parallel to se what works best.

You need 2 fittings per component. 3 fittings per VGA if you go parallel, 2 fittings per VGA if you go series,
...or only one fitting per VGA if you get the EK SLI bridge.

FrozenQ res look awsome, I have the double bay one. But a large amount of guys report leaks and poor manufacturing standards. Mine is perfect build and no leaks at all.smile.gif
