I prefer league, a lot of that is stupid things like how the engine behaves, though.
There are some mechanics in dota, for example two that stuck out to me the most - when you turn your character, there is a turn rate so that it's not very easy to run in any direction aside from the one you are running in, your movements feel much more locked in and less twitchy (which i did not like personally)
And secondly, when you drag the camera, there is a lag time where your camera just does not move for a fraction of a second as you have to "drag" it and it does not move very easily. That felt terrible IMO and i was not able to fix it in the hour or two that i played.
Here is an old thread on the issue: http://dev.dota2.com/archive/index.php/t-4308.html
I was told several times that it was just part of the game engine and that was probably half of the reason alone that i did not play Dota 2 a lot more, so if it has been fixed please post here and let everyone know~
The LoL engine in comparison has min fps far enough up there to have a dip never really be visible on a 120hz screen (dont think i've really seen it below 150 or so though i didn't benchmark through big fights much, w/ 300-600+ (usually 350 now) at start of game) and is very smooth, snappy, responsive etc, a pleasure to play on compared to sc2 and dota 2 which are two examples of the same kind of camera style game that seem to have engine issues with laggy stuff like this (dota) or micro and macrostuttering (sc2)Edited by Cyro999 - 3/30/14 at 9:59pm
