my current motherboard supports ddr3 1333 ddr3 1600 and after that it supports ddr3 1866/oc all the way up to ddr3 3000/oc what dose the oc next to ddr3 1866 all the way up to ddr3 3000 mean I know oc stands for overclock but dose it mean that after ddr3 1600 if you want faster ram you have to overclock it

Officially Haswell only supports 1600 MHz DDR3 memory so when they say 'OC' it means over the official spec. In reality though Haswell chips can handle much higher speeds.

Basically what Twerk said. Haswell only supports 1600, but many motherboards (especially higher end ones) can overclock for much higher speeds, which Haswell can handle, but isn't guaranteed to play nice with. Also, just because a motherboard says it supports 3000 doesn't mean it is going to work well whatsoever with RAM clocked at that. You can kind of partially mark it up to a marketing gimmick, and partly to the fact that Intel's "official" support is far lower than the actual capabilities of the processor.

If the motherboard you speak of is the one in your sig rig, then it should without a problem. That's a pretty high quality board. That being said, I'm a bit out of the loop with the recent ASUS boards, so I'm not 100% if there are any known problems for that model.

Edit: Doing a quick google search and skimming the results, I don't see at least a common issue with it.
