Its trivial, the rift is just a device, and oculus is a company that will come and go over the years. If VR does become popular there will be more, there is always options in the tech market. Does the acquisition suck? Yes, but its not the end of the world, life will go on. If you dont like it dont buy it, simple as that.

The product still is in development and I would think the first investors should be paid on the FB deal.

The real investors will, everyone on kickstart got what pledge they paid for.

Indeed, Kickstarter constantly advertises that project donations aren't investments at all.

Still, the principle is a bit off... kickstarters often keep startups independent, but Oculus completely sold out before putting out a second prototype.

I feel sorry for the investors of whom invested a decent sum on money and were one of the first.

A VR startup, basically the biggest thing to happen in gaming display tech in recent years.

You haven't heard of them? They've been in the news quite a bit.

The only right thing for them to do is to return the 2.5 million to their backers.

It is trivial. Its a video game hardware..... It is beyond trivial. I hate that facebook acquired them too, but death threats and throwing temper tantrums, is absurd. First world problems. rolleyes.gif

This is shameful. The exchanges companies make go on all the time! It's quite understandable regardless of how evil a company chooses to side with.
