Lowering power usage... Keeping similar performance

Hey guys, basically just want to know if its a decent idea to "retire" my current rig as such as im gonna use it for a emulation box or something.

I want to reduce power consumption though, Basically changing the GPU to a 750 Ti would be a easy power saver i guess, take it ill not loose too much on performance right?

As this rig will be retired, I will not be running the latest games on it or anything, But the real concern is PS2 and Wii / Gamecube Emulation, Im unsure how much of a hit the emulators will take.

Any other power saving tactics will help thanks.

Just for emulation? Reduce the voltage on your CPU. It wont go down much but if its JUST for emulation you can underclock it and decrease the voltage.

Not just but i see this PC being fitted into a cabinet probably later in the year, Underclocking will be fine if i were to use just 2d based systems, but im gonna be emulating the PS2 , NGC/ Wii also at 1080p at least, and they need a bit more punch.
