Asus P6T won't boot unless i unplug all cable !!!!!!!!

Thread Starter
hello guys,

a friend of mine gave me his PC to fix it.

( it was working fine until the electricity suddenly went down in his house)

the problem as i mentioned in the title. the PC won't boot unless I unplug all the cable and leave the motherboard for few days.

after that i plug everything back and the PC starts fine, but when i plan to switch off the PC the same problem keep happening over and over.

the PC spec i know is :

PSU: FSP400-60tha

processor : i think its i5

Ram : corsair 3x1GB

motherboard : Asus P6T

Graphic : geforce somthing .. ???

so my question is why does it behave like this?
what possibly could be the problem?
how to fix it?

Might be a capacitor that has been blown... Or the PSU?

Anyway, try this also:

Remove ALL the cables once more and the CMOS battery, and clear the CMOS and leave the motherboard a day or so.

When you put it back together, start the PC and go into BIOS. Do F5 (load factory defaults) and F10 (save and exit)

Try to get into windows. Shut it down. Reboot, and see if it still happens.

If so, I guess the motherboard died... (because of overvoltage or something)

EDIT: offtopic.gif --> use CPU-Z and GPU-Z as tools to see what's "inside" your case --> it shows all the importent info about CPU+RAM+Motherboard+GPU
