Writing RANDOM data to an HDD is actually a lot safer way of making sure that no information can ever be recovered.

The only extra thing I downloaded, speedfan, cpuz, coretemp(which after searching for why it wasn't working I discovered it tends to contain malware so I will not be installing that again), the crap that came with my motherboard cd, graphics drivers from nvidia/msi afterburner, comodo, avast, mbam, msi kombuster, flash shockwave quicktime java, hypersli to run sli on a non sli mobo, and winrar..... I know the rootkit scans worked before too. This makes a man wanna strangle something. Redoing dban again..not installing core temp and i suppose ill research in depth all the other things. Rootkit scans did work after I redid it but ill check after every new program intsall or something...it better not be hyper sli cause I need that.

What have you been doing to get malware that's THAT horribly persistent?

Not looking at porn! On that computer... I hadn't installed any games or even searched the interwebs really besides looking on this forum and going to websites to download those things I listed...

It's the same error as last time too... I honestly can't see what it is that's causing it... Can't be a oc error else it woulda happened before.

Sounds like a bad one. I've seen one that would infect any storage device as soon as it was connected.Like a USB drive.

But you did revert back to stock to rule that out for sure, right?

I believe I made the usb on my other computer, and no I did not revert bios but I will now. I just don't see that being it because after the reinstall rootkit scans and everything worked.

Okay I installed HyperSLI do do the whole sli on non sli motherboard, that was the only change, and i would get the BSOD when I do a rootkit scan. So now to figure out if it is maleware or what.... using version 1.0....

EDIT

If I uninstall hypersli I can then do a rootkit scan with no issues. I feel like I just wasted a bunch of time and stress here lol but still the question arises, what exactly should I do? Just not do any rootkit scans unless hypersli is disabled?
