This is my current PSU. Its quiet and effeicent. Ive had it for about 5 years now now issues at all. I love the build quality of this unit. I know its a bit over your said budget but it is a good PSU. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=x650+gold&N=-1&isNodeId=1

And not to mention X Series's history of coil whine (though that's partially from fan noise being low so there's not much there to drown out noise from the electronics).

But yeah, Cooler Master V650 semi-modular is cheaper than RM650 and in budget.

I guess internals quality could be a little bit better, and fan is just a normal 2BB Yate Loon, but fan speeds are much lower than on Corsair VX.

I recommend the Seasonic X-550 or 650. I have the 850W and I can't even hear it if I put my ear near it.

What other PSUs are available to you other than the ones that you listed?

More PSUs availables:
  • ENERMAX REVOLUTION 87+ 650W (117€ a bit expensive than other ones and it has 4 12v's rails.)
  • Cooler Master V650S (120mm fan, probably noisier than other ones PSUs, OEM is Enhance Electronics, two 8 PCIe pin)
  • Super Flower Golden Green HX 80 Plus Gold 650W (I know it is a good power supply, but it is not modular and has a 120mm fan (noisy?)
  • LEPA G650-MAS
  • Thermaltake Paris 650W
  • FSP AURUM 650 80+ ORO MODULAR (113€, 120mm fan, probably noisier than other ones PSUs and it has 4 12v's rails.)
  • Enermax ETA650AWT-M Triathlor FC 80
  • Antec HCG- 620- M
  • Seasonic Serie G G-550 (only 550w and noisy(?))

RM650 would be the quietest. XFX XXX and Seasonic M12II EVO have better parts. The latter is on a lower-end and older design, so the XFX XXX is better. Enermax Revolution X't is not very good. Be Quiet Pure Power L8 is not really comparable to these.

Worst-case scenario you can just get the RM650, but I'd hope there's something like Cooler Master V or V semi-modular, maybe even a Be Quiet E9 if you sacrifice some performance, XFX XTR, Seasonic G, Super Flower Golden Green. The last few would probably be somewhat louder than the RM but much quieter than the VX. There's better than those too, but usually at a higher cost.

Thanks!
I thought Seasonic M12II EVO was a new model.
So bad is the RM650 Corsair? OEM is CWT like my current VX550, OEM cwt is bad? I always liked Corsair.

Right, those are the shops, plus amazon.

That's a good power supply, but in my country is more expensive.

I suggest budget increase and this PSU. link (Click to show) Up to 30% load it will be in fanless mode. Up to 50% load it will be in silent mode.

What is OP EVER going to use a 1000W PSU for? A PSU doesn't have to shut off its fan to be quiet. Also, I'm fairly sure this would be like $500 in madrid.

Shocked its that cheap there, but still, absolute silence isnt a needed for OP because his Tri-X 280X is going to be louder then any of the PSU's we've mentioned. Not to mention, we dont know what his CPU cooler is, which will probably also be louder. Total silence isnt needed for this rig unless OP is going to go totally passive on everything, nice trying to roll me though, best effort i've seen so far wink.gif

*EDIT*
Didn't read properly lol. Depending on the fans, it still might be louder then the 280X, unless he put it in the loop.
