Res and Pump

Thread Starter
I am looking to do a water cooling loop for a build with a 4770k and a 770 in a Phantom 630. I want to keep options open for more powerful CPUs (5820k?) and SLI GPUs (dual GM104). I'd think that 1x240+1x360mm radiators would be the configuration, otherwise possibly dual 240s or 240+280.

Anyway I am not sure what to be looking towards as far as the pumps and reservoirs go. I'd think the D5 would be the best pump to get. This pump/res combo looks pretty good, or should I get a separate reservoir?

If it ends up being a separate reservoir would the Phobya Balancer 150mm be a good option?

Budget would be basically unlimited, but I'd prefer not to overspend.

I'd like to avoid drive bar reservoirs as they look awkward and the corners of them are failure points.

Also, does anyone know the clearances for the rads in the top, front, and bottom radiators of the 630?

I would go separate for pumps and resses. It allows more space flexibility. Also you can add another pump easier-ly in my opinion. Plus I think it looks better separate. D5 should be enough. Rads follow this rule. 120x1 for each components + 1 for OC +1 for overhead. I would lean towards 120 mm radiators because they have more options for fans that cool radiators better than 140mm fans. Gentle Typhoons are where it's at if you can find them. If you want PWM then Noctuas are your best bet.

D5 for the pump should be fine and silent. As for the rads, I think a 360/240 would be fine for a cpu and 2 gpu's with some oc'ing. You have around 55-60mm clearance up top so you could do a 30mm rad with p/p or 45mm with just p. I myself run the black ice sr1's that are 55mm and perfect for low flow fans for a silent build. You can fit a 240 in the front removing the hdd bays or I think laying down on the floor only removing 1 hdd cage. You can go pretty think on that rad so many options there. For the res you could go with something like the bitspower top mod 150mm kit which would make the pump/res as one nice clean looking unit. http://www.frozencpu.com/products/16077/ex-res-370/Bitspower_Dual_Single_D5_Top_Upgrade_Kit_150_-_Black_BP-D5TOPUK150P-BKBKCL.html
IMO, with that case there are not many places to mount the pump and seperate res without removing more cages. So and all in one unit would be perfect and can be mounted right on the lower 240 rad.
