So I had upgraded my motherboard, ram and formatted my ssd and after a fresh install of windows 8.1 my system is operating at unusable speeds. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Make sure everything is seated tightly (especially RAM).

Check your event viewer logs to see if anything is coming up, any odd driver conflicts etc.

Anyway problem solved. It appears that there was an issue with my ssd. So I just bought a new one and everything works now.
