[Think Computers] NVIDIA Maxwell 20nm GPU Lineup Delayed Until 2015 - Page 12

Maybe it was a clever way of someone trying to force Nvidia to provide some details about Maxwell before they actually planned on it. This could potentially hurt investor confidence if Nvidia doesn't correct the speculation.

I doubt this had anything more than a barely noticeable impact on investor confidence. A delay of products won't necessarily hurt the company so long as it doesn't result in financial loss. Financial loss is what causes loss in investor confidence, not a rumor of a delay.

With Gloflo looking to be the final suitor for IBM's semiconductor business, may be both Nvidia and AMD will be sourcing their 20 nm from Gloflo? whenever that happens....
Nvidia has a cozy relationship with IBM through open power consortium, and IBM is part of the Process Development Alliance with Gloflo.

TSMC is already making 20nm processors for Apple as we speak.

Relax, they will have ready a Small Maxwell easily after August if they are willing.

These doom rumors seem to benefit AMD and NVIDIA selling current models.

For a big Maxwell it might take a year. But the first ones might marginally beat a Ti 780 for $500.

My recommendation is to wait until Pascal...2015 is 9 months away...why purchase a big Maxwell when the other GPUs should be live by this time, next year...

Pascal is 2016, for the record. And even if the Maxwell delay pans out, that likely pushes back Pascal as well.

It's actually 2016, and seeing how things always get delayed, it's prolly late 2016.

Thanks for the corrections, small typo there. Well, DX12 should be the breakthrough for 2014-2015...20% performance advantage at the beginning...big maxwells next year for sure...better wait....

Could be pushed back...the thing is that for 2015 the 20nm process should be ironed out of issues, I don't think this will delay Pascal, 2 different teams handling 2 different GPU projects....

The only way Nvidia doesn't come out with 20nm gpu is if AMD does not. AMD was already taping out 20nm for q3/q4 production.
Besides, Nvidia's inventory level was low in the last quarter. Can't see them stocking up on 28nm when its time to replenish...
