That is the point I've been trying to make, the community doesn't really care about graphics. The core draw, the immersion, is the combat above all else. We don't care about the "Bait and Switch" you keep going on about. If combat is not the main focus of what makes a game immersive for you. Then From Software games are not for you.

It really is that simple.

if it were marketed to individuals who did not care how the game looked then there would be no need to show soemthing DS is not. In fact, there would be no need to put much effort in to visuals at all. Just give the fans a pixelated version on par with pacman or tetris but has the greatest combat system devised. Put all resources in to gameplay and story because thats all that true fans should care about.....derp.

Every time i come on ocn the thread get filled up with some war or goes off topic. Wish admins would stop this, its kinder sad that we as a community do this...

But I dont see how people can defend dark souls 2... they showed for weeks with some awesome lookong graphic building up a massive hype then when ever one pre orders the game and get to play it they see a slightly upgraded version of dark souls 1. You can say far cry did this but far cry 3 still looked amazing. I would also pick gameplay over graphics but dont lie to customers.

Yea, for some games, the animations are tied to the framerates. If you use the mod for Dark Souls 1 and raise the framerate above 60, the game goes super glitchly. I tried to get Dark Souls to run native on my 120hz monitor but nope... The game run at 2x speed and I was glitching all over the place. Oh well. It was still glorious at 60fps biggrin.gif
