Time For Me To Learn About Monitors

Thread Starter
I'd rather learn about stuff from people here who are fellow gamers/enthusiasts rather than a random idiot site. So please, tell me what all kinds of monitors there are (I've heard of IPS and TN) and what is the difference between them. I could also use a little help with how to properly clean them. Mine are a bit dirty right now...

Next up: What are my current monitors? I've noticed on my V246HL that it seems to have better color accuracy and proper brightness levels. While my G245HQ has higher brightness and more... 'colorful' colors. It also has a wider viewing angle, both horizontal and vertical. My primary monitor is the V246HL, as I play games on that one, and my secondary is the G245HQ, since I'm always watching something on the side (Netflix right now actually).

Finally: If I were to get another 23.6/24in monitor for multi monitor gaming:
  • How hard is removing the bezel and putting on a new, thinner bezel?
  • How much would it be to do the custom bezel?
  • What all bezel 'kits' are out there that would be worth doing?
  • Would there be a way for me to have my webpages and other applications to run across two of the monitors?
Please, do not say anything about a single GTX 680 or my 8350 not being enough. I am upgrading my CPU first, then I might get the third monitor. As of right now, the third monitor is just for information, not planning an upgrade.

And please tell me an easy and safe way to clean my monitors... I'm seeing quite a bit a dirt staring at the white screen of the text box on OCN

Weird... Found out both my monitors are TN... yet they are so different. It's also weird that one can be viewed at a wide angle, and yet the other one cannot. Thank you for the vid
