Which wireless mouse to get?

post #1 of 25
Thread Starter
So I already had a Logitech bluetooth mouse, which I absolutely hate using with my Surface 2 Pro. So I want a different mouse, it must be wireless(I do have a usb open if needed), I don't think I want a super small mouse either, I have big hands. Currently at home I have a Mionix NAOS 5000 which I love beyond words, I have owned G500/G5's and G700's and don't dislike them, I did have a Razer something Plasma edition and hated the shape of it. Figures Mionix doesn't make a wireless mouse. I am mainly playing Diablo 3 and Borderlands 2 so battery life would be a plus.

Any ideas?(as always cheaper is nice but I want quality and something that will do what I need, but lets put the ceiling at $80 and hope to be under $60)

The only wireless optical mouse (read: the only kind of wireless mouse with a good sensor) is the Logitech G602. Usually you really should stay away from wireless. If you like the Naos 5000, upgrade to the Naos 7000 for the best overall sensor on the market right now, better than the G602's.

Like Metal said, wireless really limits the amount of "quality" you can get. The G602 has a great sensor and is a hybrid wired/wireless mouse for people with big hands, so that might be right up your alley. Actually, it's really the only thing up your alley. After that... I guess the G700 or something from Razer's wireless line.

Has anyone ever ran the G602 through Enotus for PCS measurements and also provided paint tests? I'm really curious about that since I've never seen the metrics for it yet. Has anyone done this? Also, what sensor is that thing using? I can't seem to find that info anywhere either.

Looks like the sensor is Avago-3090. I am also interested for this mice. The reason it isn't 4000dpi its probably Logitech limitation regarding longer battery life or something like this. Also from what I read reviews claims its totally lag free (if this is for true I am so so temped to get it). max polling rate is 500hz and I want to believe that's enough, only 1 ms difference from 1000hz. It can operates with 1 battery instead of 2, that means around 120-130g in total. Also I would like the POV of a claw grip user like me. Seems like a good overall mouse for work and any type of gaming, but ofc not the perfect for hardcore FPS gamers. I am looking to replace my G9 and I play many type of games depending on mood. So the best option is to buy.. 2 new mice tongue.gif one fps oriented and a mmo/rts oriented. Or try G602 and see how well it suits my needs. BUT! 1st I want to see some test for from an expert/power user/hardcore gamer as you propose. 2nd Might the combo of good optical sensor/true wireless gaming proves that good that even a hardcore quake/CS pro gamer will approve as a valid mice choice.. Food for thought

If there is something fairly simple you want me to test on it let me know I don't mind a little research. I can also test against it: G700, G5, NAOS 5000, and a Logitech Bluetooth mouse I was using. I might have a G500 somewhere too, not sure though.

Tbh I would like to see an "advanced" extended review with measurements like metal571 said. All reviews I have seen about this mice is mainstream oriented . And all of those reviews are praising it. Whoever is up for this task will be nice smile.gif

wireless = not gaming tongue.gif

Like realy... you are paying much more money for gaming hardware than on normal office stuff. yet u thorwing out everything you can get from it(responsivenes for example) by buing wireless. iMHO pointless.

G700 is nice but at 1 ms its battery life as it is as I'm sure you are aware having owned one. It is also a bit outside your budget without catching one on sale but in my opinion it's one of the best wireless mouses available on market. Granted I have not looked for anything else since getting G700 few years ago so perhaps there might be something else out there by now that equals it.
