Zowie FK's Malfunction speed?

I recently switched from a G400s to a Zowie FK and I'm having trouble adapting to the significantly lower malfunction speed of the FK. My question is, is the low malfunction speed of the Zowie FK fixable (such as modding the lens or switching out with something else similar to some EC1 fixes ive seen) or is it a hardware problem, where the mouse chip cannot support a high malfunction speed?

Get the new IR-LED FK, much higher malfunction speed and seems to track on more surfaces.
2013FK vs. 2014FK

From my tests:
Steelseries NP+ : both mice perform fairly equally
Steelseries QcK+: old and dirty pad, 2013FK malfunctions easily
Artisan Shiden Kai: both mice perform equally
Artisan Hayate: both mice perform equally
Steelseries QcK+ Fnatic: 2013FK malfunctions instantly, 2014FK does not malfunction even during the fastest swipe

You can take the prism off the lens on your 2013FK but it just increases the lift off distance by a fair bit, similar to the Kana v2, dpi is also reduced to match the standard dpi in other mice.

I have FK 2014. Malfunction speed is still far too low on any black mousepad.

Im essentially wondering, why is it that the g400s has such a good malfunction speed over the FK? Is the lens better, or the computer chip?

Zowie had to sacrifice tracking speed to make sure the lift off distance was low. I think they were too aggressive with it though. I'm really surprised the 2014FK doesn't have the 3310 sensor.

It's the custom lens they use that lowers the malfunctions speed so much, right? So then if i swapped it out somehow I could achieve better malfunction speeds?

I remembered I found this thread when I was google searching for a solution to this problem.

Would this solution work on a FK?

Use 500 Hz and you should be fine: http://imgur.com/a/ckjBZ

Those are the results of the 2013 FK, didn't try again with my new 2014 one. If it's anything like the EC1 eVo CL which I did try then it has improved even more. On both 450 and 2300 dpi I get a real PCS of above 3.5 m/s

I haven't had any issues since switching to 450 DPI / 500 hz, on both my 2013 FK and my EC2 evo.
