[TPU] Radeon R9 295X2 Pictured in the Flesh, Specs Leaked - Page 11

I think a normal finned heatsink on two of these cores so close together would hit the throttle point no matter the fan speed.

Let's not confuse the chip with the cooler.. wink.gif AMD went with a lesser cooler to make it more affordable for end users. There are some that don't mind the sound of the reference cooler, if you want to spend more money there are aftermarket coolers and AIB cards. rolleyes.gif

I'm sure the 120mm rad will cool fine. I too would like a model with just a block but I don't think that's a good idea for a reference card.

Lol... what were toy saying about the heat again?

Btw r9 290x is in no way similar to Fermi.

Selective reading, you definitely have it.

You also definitely missed the point, or didn't want to see the point in the first place.

I'd like to see something like a "Hydro Copper like" design like one of my 580s is. Just a water block setup in the factory so that the card looks like it was made to have it on there. Are there any AMD cards that come like that? I don't know if it would work to just splice the hoses into a loop either...it would have its little tiny pump in there yet. So you'd need the ability to remove that too.

Truth be told this pre-installed water block isn't the best water block in the world...but damn it looks sexy. I am still hoping to find a lone water block for the other 580 if I don't upgrade to a new GPU soon...and I might consider a 295X2 if it ends up being real. $1200 price tag might sound horrible, but if it lasts you five years or so...that is actually a good deal. Though I am kind of thinking I'll ride these 580s til a good DX12 GPU is out. They are equal to about a 770 or so. That's the only thing that sucks about this these new big GPUs...they are expensive and in three years could be obsolete. Obsolete meaning not compatible with any DX12 eye candy...I am sure they will still be running 90fps+ at 1440p maxed out in three years. I am guessing we are about three years out from seeing any true DX12 usage.

The best part of the hydro copper cards is seeing the 1 star newegg review of " why the he'll would you sell a gpu that requires water cooling only, I didn't know this was a watercool only card."

How did I selectively read? Your topic on reply was the heat output.
