ASUS R9 290X DCUII: 42dbA

Despite the similar power consumption, the Ti is clearly easier to cool.

The TI is indeed easier to cool than the 290/X but the difference is far exaggerated by said coolers. MSI and Asus simply slapped a cooler designed for the 780 on the 290/X reducing effective surface area in contact with the hawaii die. What you end up having is three out of a total of 5 heat pipes making direct contact with the die while the other two have to rely on whatever heat they can absorb from adjacent pipes. Sapphire and Powercolor custom coolers produce much much better results.

Yes,but there are several reasons why someone would prefer this configuration. There's heat, noise and size advantages. Also display options with 5 dp. You can now run quadfire in a mid tower case and not cook the cpu etc.Plus some people don't want to deal with a full loop.

I understand, there are however 290's with decent coolers on them now though. I dont know but thats the route I would take if I was interested in crossfire. I know everyone is different.

so 900 euro right?

Since the cheapest 290X here is 450 and even though they save on PCB and manu they are down extra for the bridge chip and the water cooler also the new pcb design.
